Exposure meter

n.

  1. Photography. A mechanical, photoelectric device which measures light intensity, registering it on a scale from which may be determined the correct shutter speed and aperture for a designated area, so correct exposures are made. Besides indicating the appropriate exposure for each of several shutter speeds it usually contains a photoelectric cell.
